The Cust School Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of the school – which means setting general policy, aims, and targets; monitoring progress, and allocating resources to allow our staff to get the job done. It's not the Board’s job to be involved in the day to day running of the school, but to provide overall direction.
The Cust School Board of Trustees consists of five Parent Representatives, a Staff Representative, and the Principal. Parent and Staff elections are held every three years, with the most recent Board elected in August 2022.
The current Board and their areas of responsibility are:
Tracey George – Board Chair, Documentation & Self Review Sarah McAllister – Health & Safety Anna Riley – Personnel Sam Taylor– Finance Luke Thompson – Property Shannon McLeod – Staff Rep Gerhard Potgieter - Principal
The Board meets twice per term at 7.00pm in the school staffroom, plus a few other times during the year to discuss key issues such as student achievement and strategic planning. Board Meeting agendas are published in the school newsletter.
If you want to bring any matters to the Board’s attention, or just want to have a chat about the school, feel free to contact the Presiding Chair on board.chair@cust.school.nz, or come along to a Board meeting.
